Glorieta Baptist Church, is so much more than an organization. It is first a body of Christ and a church family where we love and encourage one another in following Jesus and in which we voluntarily unite with each other in carrying out God's mission.

The primary requirement for becoming a member of Glorieta Baptist Church is that you are a follower of Jesus, having been born again and baptized by immersion after your salvation.
The beginning of our statement of belief regarding the Biblical definition of a local church reads:
The beginning of our statement of belief regarding the Biblical definition of a local church reads:
A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the two ordinances of Christ, governed by His laws, exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word, and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth.
This statement establishes for us why church membership matters and how we approach it. We have a covenant at Glorieta to which all of our members have agreed and by which we make every effort to carry out God's design for our church. Please take a moment to read and prayerfully consider our Members Covenant. You can find a link to the Members Covenant at the bottom of this page.
Our Members Covenant is based on God's design for the church as described throughout the New Testament. The Bible is our guide at Glorieta for all matters pertaining to faith, beliefs, and practice. At the bottom of this page, you will find an additional link to What We Believe. It is admittedly a lengthy statement of key tenants of the faith to which we subscribe, all originating from God's Word. Please take some time to also prayerfully consider these core beliefs. Feel free to ask us if you have any questions at all about these beliefs. We're more than happy to help you in your journey of understanding God's Word.
